Unveiling of the bust of Ján Zábojník

The director of our company in the years 1975 - 1990 contributed significantly to its development. We honored his memory by unveiling a bust on the occasion of his late 89th birthday.
Ján Zábojník was born on February 7, 1933 in Horné Semerovce in the Levice district. After graduating from the Higher Industrial School of Mechanical Engineering, he continued his studies at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (now the Slovak University of Technology), in the field of mechanical engineering, graduating in 1967. In 1959 he got married and with his wife Marta they raised two children - Ján and Katarína.

From February 1, 1969, he became the head of the Engineering Testing Institute of Brno, Piešťany branch. When the Czechoslovak Institute for the Certification of Instruments and Equipment was established on 1 January 1975 as a legally independent state economic organization, Mr. Zábojník became its director and to a significant extent he contributed to its development. He headed the company until September 17, 1990. He died on December 24, 2016.

Important events:
• Construction of new testing facilities (1973-1991).
• Commencement of activities in new technically demanding areas and development of existing areas of services provided: industrial fittings, pumps, plain bearings, transmission equipment and couplings, refrigeration and freezing equipment, air conditioning equipment, technical acoustics, etc.
• Introduction of computer technology into the processes of testing and evaluation of measurements.
