35th meeting of Interstate Council for standardization, metrology and certification
Some of the main tasks of the meeting were the quality and competitiveness of export production and integration among single countries, as well as protection of the market from danger goods.From 9th to 12th June 2009, the 35th meeting of the Interstate Council for standardization, metrology and certification took place in Minsk, Belarus Republic. This council matches the national bodies of single states of previous Soviet Union (Gosstandarts) in charge of leading the standardization, metrology and certification in this states. The meeting takes place twice a year with the participation of the leaders of single Gosstandarts. Their objective is to solve common problems and discuss actual issues.
This year, 9 delegation of the member states took part on the meeting: Russian Federation, Belarus Republic, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kirghiz, Tajikistan, Moldavia, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. There were the representatives of ISO, CEN/CENELEC, COOMET invited as guests, as well as delegations from Great Britain, Spain, France, Poland, Slovakia, Germany and Austria.
Some of the main tasks of the meeting were the quality and competitiveness of export production and integration among single countries, as well as protection of the market from danger goods. The participants have agreed on new tasks as electric energy saving, E-commerce and safety of foodstuffs.
The meeting helped to experiences exchange in the field of technical reglaments (equivalent to EU Directives), proceeding of their approval and their effectiveness. Each state have accepted its own wording of these reglements. Not every member state have accepted the effort for their unification. For example, the Russian Federation has 8 valid reglaments, one of them is in accordance with EU legislation. Ukraine has now 19 valid reglaments and all are in accordance with EU legislation. Thence it follows, that the differences in approach and progress among single countries regarding the new legislation acceptance are markable.
