New Regulation (EU) 2016/426 on appliances burning gaseous fuels

The Technical Testing Institute has been notified of the new Regulation of the European Parliament and Council (EU) 2016/426 on appliances burning gaseous fuels

WHAT SHOULD THE MANUFACTURER KNOW?

Until 20 April 2018, the old Directive 2009/142/EC GAD is fully applicable. This means that only appliances and equipment complying with the GAD Directive 2009/142/EC can be placed on the market and put into service.

From 21 April 2018 only appliances and equipment complying with the new Regulation (EU) 2016/426 GAR can be placed on the market and put into service. This means that this appliances and equipment have to meet the essential requirements of the new Regulation (EU) 2016/426 GAR.

Before 21. April 2018 , the appliance may also be placed on the market in compliance with the new Regulation (EU) 2016/426 GAR, but the type certificate including the Declaration of Conformity have to be issued in accordance with the old Directive 2009/142/EC GAD with a note: valid until 20 April 2018 and in line with the new Regulation 2016/426 (EU) GAR with a note: valid from April 21, 2018.
