Power take-off (PTO) drive shaftsPower take-off (PTO) drive shaftsStrength and wear tests and acceptance criteria of Power take-off (PTO) drive shafts and their protective covers
Tests according to:
  • EN 12965
  • EN ISO 5674

Benefits for the customer:
  • PTO shafts are specified as especially dangerous machinery and are included in Annex IV of the Directive 2006/42/EC on machinery. TSU as EU Notified Body ensures the EC type-examination along with the conformity assessment based on internal production control of machinery under Annex VIII of that Directive,
  • on the basis of EC type testing and conformity assessment, the customer is allowed to place CE mark on products,
  • TSU testing laboratories are equipped with devices and preparations which enable us to make quality testing in the full scope of the standards,
  • we are able to carry out tests on different types (PTO with universal or versatile wide joint) and various drive shaft sizes.

Testing procedure:

a) Technical file and labeling:
  • assessment of technical file, user manual, drawings etc.
  • assessment of accuracy of product labeling
  • check of the presence of warning signs and information on the product

b) Qualitative tests:
  • wear test at a set RPM (in the first phase of 48 hours at 85°C, in the next phase of 24 hours at 85°C)
  • wear test at a set RPM (in the first phase of 48 hours at ambient temperature, in the next phase of 24 hours at ambient temperature)
  • test of joint by dynamic radial load at ambient temperature
  • test of guard tube by dynamic radial load at ambient temperature
  • dynamic axial load test at ambient temperature
  • wear test at a set RPM (in the first phase of 96 hours at ambient temperature, in the next phase of 48 hours at ambient temperature) with dust
  • support corrosion test
  • dynamic deflection test
  • guard funnel and tubing axial load test at ambient temperature
  • impact tests at -35°C
  • test of fixing elements

Output:
  • Test protocol
  • EC type certificate (issued by Certification Body of Products of TSU)
