On 16th January 2013, a seminar focused on the application of technical standards and regulations within the new Customs Union, whose member states are Russian Federation, Belarus and Kazakhstan, took place in TSÚ Piešťany.
This seminar was a joint action of TSÚ Piešťany and Belarus state institute for standardization and certification (BelGISS Minsk) under the auspices of Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing (ÚNMS SR) and Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SOPK).
After the opening ceremony of the seminar, made by president of ÚNMS SR, prof. J. Mihok, the presentation of Mrs. K. Steinlová focused on the cooperation between Slovak Republic and the members of Customs Union was conducted followed by presentation of Mr. Parshakov, representative of Business Council Russian Federation, regarding the new customs regulations.
Program of the seminar has then continued by three extensive presentations of Mr. V. L. Hurevich, director of BelGISS Minsk. First presentation was devoted to general principles of technical regulation applicable within new Customs Union. Remaining two presentations were focused on detailed characterization of five technical reglements of Customs Union, which related to machinery safety equipment, low voltage equipment, electromagnetic compatibility gas appliance and equipment operating in potentially explosive environment.
Seminar was attended by 50 experts totally, who appreciated the actuality and excellent professional level of presentations and have opened a series of questions focused on the practical application of new technical regulations of the Customs Union at the final discussion.
